Meio Queijo, which means "half cheese" in Portuguese, refers to the shape of the vineyard at Quinta da Grisha. This red wine is a refined blend of touriga nacional, touriga franca, and tinta roriz grapes. On the nose, you’ll discover an enchanting combination of flowers, ripe fruit, and a hint of vanilla. There are also spicy notes, and the soft tannins provide a velvety texture. The wine is perfectly balanced, with a pleasant, long finish. An excellent choice as an aperitif, alongside a charcuterie board, cheese, pizza, or a piece of grilled meat.
About Churchill's Winery
In 1981, John Graham started Churchill’s, becoming the first Englishman to start a new Port house in 50 years. The foundation of this new company was the desire to continue family traditions by producing Ports with a unique individual style. The name of the new company comes from his wife, Caroline Churchill. Compared to other Port houses, most of which began in the 18th or 19th century, the history of Churchill’s is short. In just 30 years, the company has built an enviable reputation for producing very high-quality Port. In 1999, Quinta da Gricha was purchased, a 50-hectare estate with A-rated vineyards on the south bank of the Douro, between Pinhão and Tua, in the prestigious Cima Corgo area. All Churchill’s Port is produced in the winery of Quinta da Gricha in traditional granite tanks (lagares) from 1852! Since the acquisition of Quinta da Gricha, Churchill’s not only makes Port but also regular wines under the name Churchill’s Estates. These have been on the market since 2004 and, like the Ports, are of excellent quality. In the current wine market, Churchill’s is known as a high-quality boutique Port and Douro Wine Company specialized in premium Port and various Douro wine categories.
