Petrus 2020 is an iconic red wine from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux. This wine is made exclusively from Merlot sourced from an 11.4-hectare vineyard with an exceptionally high proportion of iron-rich clay in the soil. The vines are on average more than 35 years old and produce high-quality grapes with a distinctive character.
After a careful harvest at optimal ripeness, the grapes are optically sorted and gently processed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, followed by 12 to 16 months of ageing in new oak barrels. The wine is distinguished by its deep colour, complex and powerful aromas, refined elegance and lush fruit notes. In exceptional vintages, Petrus has an ageing potential of 25 years or more. The limited production and consistent quality have earned this wine a legendary reputation within Bordeaux.
